AdBlue® dispensing has one failure mode that costs more than all the others combined: putting it in the diesel tank. The ZVA AdBlue nozzle is dimensioned so that misfuelling is prevented mechanically rather than by the operator paying attention.
This is the 3M configuration, supplied with a trigger guard. As with all AdBlue® equipment, the materials are selected for urea compatibility — corrosion in an AdBlue® line ends up in the SCR system, and that is not a cheap discovery.
ZVA nozzles are modular by design, which is the whole argument for buying them. Simple repairs can be done on site, and in a workshop the nozzle strips down and rebuilds in minutes. With one or two intermediate repairs a ZVA will regularly reach ten years of service or more — which is why, despite costing more than average up front, they show the lowest total cost of ownership in the category.
